Manager's Update #1
12-Sept-2007

The new season got off to a glorious start when two of our leading ladies struck gold at the Leeds Grand Prix. Egle Adomelyte, continuing where she left off last season, won the Womens' Open event and her British League team mate, Hannah Hicks, brought home the Women's Under 21 trophy.

Top Progress junior, Garth Kinlocke also had a great day, again reaching the final of the Under 21's as he had done at the Liverpool Grand Prix.

More good news came through the post when in July, DHS London Progress learnt that it had been awarded, London Region 'Club of the Year'. That good news was topped in August when the club learnt that it had been nominated for and won the National ETTA Club of the Year. This is fitting credit for all those who have helped to biuld the huge community base that the club has established since it moved to Southall.

It is also credit to our key partnerships we have built up with Active Ealing, Southall Sports Centre, Brentford Football Club, Ealing Council and many other surrounding boroughs.

The new season of the British League got underway at the weekend and DHS London Progress set another record, this time for the number of teams it had entered. A massive squad of six teams were now operating in the men's British League along with one team in the women's British League and five teams in the Junior British League. Although the results are still being checked, we can report that all teams got off to a good start particularly our two youth development teams in Division One South and Division Four South. Our sister club, Urban Progress, also got off to a great start winning all their matches in Division One and flying straight to the top of the division.

Our Premier Team is in action on the 22nd & 23rd September at Southall, and the whole membership is urged to attend to cheer on the team as they seek to extend their record breaking run to an amazing ten consecutive titles.
