10 Reasons I Hate Table-Tennis

  1. It takes up way too much of my time.
  2. I have no natural talent for the game whatsoever. Some people can even play, effortlessly it seems, with their mobile phones!
  3. I can't just sense where the ball will be returned. Why can't I manage to watch the ball like other players can?
  4. I can't just play games, games, games like so many other players seem to do. I have to practice.
  5. My timing has to be just right *all* the time.
  6. So many people are much better than I am.
  7. I can’t just run off and play with other players leaving my team mates to umpire league matches by themselves.
  8. I just can't seem to vegetate in front of the television forcing me to go to the club.
  9. Playing well seems more difficult than developing a high-availability solutions for mission-critical database systems (which I do for a living) or brain surgery?
  10. My problem is that, for some reason yet to be understood by me, I really do love it.
